Los Angeles, Capernaum, & Sodom

In another message I posted the prophecy the world systems will come to an end and the Lord will return in 1977 which we know failed because we are still here and the Lord has not returned yet. In this message I will look at another prophecy of his.

Los Angeles: — It will take a lot of space to give all his prophecies concerning the Sinking of Los Angeles so I will only give a few for this message.

“Look at the earthquakes over here in California. I predict, before the coming of the Lord Jesus that God will sink that place. I believe that Hollywood and Los Angeles and them filthy places over there, that God Almighty will sink them. They’ll go beneath the bottom of the sea.” “Who Do You Say This Is?”, 12/27/64.

I don’t know of any Earthquakes in 1964 in California but there was a tsunami hitting Crescent City, California, a Small Fishing and Lumber city just south of the Oregon line. If Branham was referring to this than it was an after the fact Prophecy as many of his prophecies are. Keep in mind in Branham’s mind the Lord will return in 1977 and so Los Angeles will sink before or in the year 1977.

“In a few days a great earthquake’s going to strike on the west. And it won’t stop. California, Los Angeles will sink. It’s going down. It’ll slide right into the ocean.” And two days after that, the Alaskan earthquake shook Alaska.” “Works Is Faith Expressed”, 11/26/65.

Notice Branham said in a few days. I am not sure what the Branhamites consider a few days but I do know those few days has already passed and Los Angeles hasn’t sunk and so that is another failed Prophecy.

Pearry Green Wrote the Acts of the Prophet. He was a close follower of Branham and for his book he used what he knew and what others knew that were closer to Branham. On Page 119 He wrote the following. — ““Billy, where are you standing?” — “Downtown Los Angeles,” Billy Paul replied. — “Where are you standing?” — “In front of the May Company, downtown Los Angeles,” replied Billy. —“Billy,” he said, “I may not be here, but you won’t be an old man until sharks will swim right where we are standing.”

Billy Paul Branham is 84 years old and that is definitely an “Old Man” and Los Angeles still haven’t sunk as he claimed. As Usual with many Cult Followers they try making up excuses. One excuse is That was in a book and Branham didn’t say that. Can that hold up?

James Manuel from Cape Town, South Africa wrote a letter to Billy Paul Branham Saying, “I heard you tell the story of how you and your dad were standing in front of May’s department store in downtown Los Angeles. Your dad wanted to know from you where you were standing, and you replied, “Downtown LA”, to which he replied, “be more specific”. You said, “in front of May’s Department Store”, to which he replied, “Billy, I may be gone, but before you are an old man, sharks will swim where you stand.” — Brother Billy, you are over 80 and definitely not a young man any longer. Do you still feel it will happen as you told us all those years? Or…..is it a story you invented to keep us loyal and expecting? It is important for us to know because if it is the truth you told….it would mean Brother Branham gave a false prophecy. If it was not the truth, you have a responsibility to set the record straight.

Notice James Manuel said he heard Billy Branham tell the story of what his Father told him and so regardless Pearry Green writting it in his book Billy Branham was telling the story. Now Billy is an old man and Manuel want to know if his father told him that or was he making it up?

Billy Branham sent him an answer back and I was surprised at the answer he gave. From: Billy@Branham.org

“I stand on exactly on what Brother Branham said, and it was not a story I made up and shame on you for thinking such a thing so I doubt you would believe me or not but I will witness to you just the same it is exactly what he said and I’m not an old man as yet, and won’t be until that happens.”

What surprised me is Billy Branham claiming he isn’t an Old Man until that prophecy is fulfill. Billy was Born in 1935 and this correspondence took place in 2017 making him 82 years old. Regardless what Billy Claimed he is an Old Man by normal standards. In William Branham’s age 60 was considered to be an Old Man.

Capernaum & Sodom and Gomorrah: — So far I only mentioned the “Sinking of Los Angeles” but in other prophecies concerning this subject he mentioned Capernaum and Sodom and Gomorrah being in the Sea. Let us look at one of these Prophecies.

And then, the last meeting I had in California, while speaking, and didn’t know nothing happened till I got on the street, It told California, said — said, “Capernaum, Capernaum, the city that’s called by the name of the angels,” (that’s Los Angeles) “you’ve exalted yourself into heaven, but you’ll be brought down into hell. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom that’s been done in you, it would have been standing till this day.” ——- And I’ve never had Him to tell me one thing but what happened. And you can bear record of that. That’s right. When? I don’t know. I went out, and they told me what I said. And I listened, went back and searched the Scripture. You know, Jesus said, almost in them same words, about Capernaum; and Sodom and Gomorrah was — was in the bottom of the Dead Sea, I suppose was then. And later, about a hundred years later, Capernaum slid into the sea, and it’s in the sea. The same God that put Sodom in the sea for its sins, the same God that put Capernaum in the sea for its sins, the same God will put Los Angeles in the sea for its sin, that city of — of corruption.

Branham was claiming the Holy Spirit is the one speaking this prophecy through him and he quoted Verses showing it is from the Holy Spirit. Did God speak through him or was it another spirit? Let us examine the above prophecy.

Sodom and Gomorrah: In other messages he has Sodom and Gomorrah as one city which they are not. Both of them were two of five cities around the Dead Sea area and neither of them set on the edge of the Dead Sea. Also neither of them sunk into the Dead Sea. Other messages he mentioned it was an earthquake that destroyed them by causing them to sink into the Dead Sea. The Bible said it was Fire and Brimstone Raining down from Heaven destroying them.

Capernaum: The city never sunk into the sea. It is not underwater but it is in ruins which I will provide the picture next.

Therefore the Holy Spirit did not speak through William Branham because God will not give any prophecy with the wrong information in it. If there was a spirit speaking through Branham it wasn’t God’s.

Also Branham could be making this story up and it is not the only time he made things up and showed he didn’t know his Bible or was contrary to the Bible. Wake Up People! Branham was false and a lair and his prophecies were after the fact and whatever was supposed before the fact didn’t come to pass as he predicted. Many of his supposed Healings did not happened as he claimed. His stories were not according to facts concerning the stories.

I am glad God led me out from under Branham’s influence and I could see Branham for what he was. Still there will be many that will cling to him regardless the evidence against him; mainly because they refuse to check out the evidence. Instead they will listen to their leaders and their Flimsy explanations such as the one Billy Branham gave about him not being an old man. May God have Mercy and Open their Blinded Eyes.
